Wickes bathrooms

Does anyone have any views on the quality of wickes bathrooms? Apparently we can get a good deal on their bathroom packages but I don't want to go for it unless they're OK quality. Thanks

too many comps..not enough time!

  • Hi,
I bought a bath, sink, toilet and taps from wickes about three years ago and they are still in great condition. They have a cheaper "take-away" range which I viewed in-store but I thought these were flimsy and poor quality. In the end I bought from the "To-order" range and have found these to be solid and of good quality.

Yes it would be the package range not the take away range. The prices today were better than the last local independent I used and the design consultant who has done our kitchen has been excellent so I'm tempted.

My bathroom is from Wickes (to order, not take away) and about 2-3 years old. I'm very happy with it!
I had a problem recently where the thingy (technical term there!) that holds the shower head to the riser had broken. I went into Wickes on a Friday (less than a month ago) with the receipt and by the middle of the following week, I had a replacement piece for no charge. Then the following week, a larger parcel turned up, with a replacement for the whole shower - riser, shower cord & head, everything!

Am a design consultant for Wickes and would echo views above.

The cheap takeaway stuff is generally not that great, particularly the baths and the £49 toilet (well hey, what do you expect?). Some of it is alright though.

The to order stuff is much better as a rule, and some of the current package deals are really good value for the quality of what you get.
