Broken window catch

We think the catch has snapped inside the mechanism - we can't open the window at all, but can hear a rattling sound when attempting to.
Its double glazing - is it fixable or do we need to get a double glazing person in to take the whole thing out to fix a broken catch?
Cheers.

First thing to do is remove the handle . . it (normally) has 2 screws - one accessible when you turn the handle to the open position and one (probably) hidden behind a plastic bung.
Removing the handle may help you figure out what's happened. Usually a square bar links the handle to the mechanism, it might be attached to the handle or may just slide into it. This bar may have become detached somehow . . . you may as well have a look yourself first.0
