fossil faulty watch return

i purchased a white ceramic watch from fossil for around £220 in July 2012. i had to return it in november 2012 as it ran slowly. since then the bracelet of the watch has broken, one of the links fell off and smashed. when i returned to the store i was told that the bracelet was not covered by the warrenty for the watch. is it right that i am not entitled to any refund/exchange on such an expensive watch that has broken after such a short time?

Presumably the slow running of the watch was dealt with and up to the time (pardon the pun) the bracelet broke the watch was keeping good time?
Warranties for items like this usually do not cover accidental damage which is probably what this was.
How did the link come to fall off?Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily Dickinson

The watch still ran slowly, but not as drastically as the first watch. It needed set back about 15 mins each week, but that had become normal routine by this time.
As for how the link broke, I'm not certain. There was no knock to it, just as I stood up it dropped off. It seemed the little metal pin had slipped out as I couldn't find it anywhere.0
