Can anyone recommend Campsite S Wales?

Hi we are looking to visit friends in Port Talbot and looking to see if anyone can recommend a camp site within 30-40 mins away.

Not looking for much just decent shower block and maybe a play area for our little one.

Thanks in advance
Adam

Look at t Gower, loads of sites tere, including three cliffs bay and port eynon. You could also try ogmore bay, porthcawl, Neath and even the south end of the Brecon Beacons. Next to Port Talbot is Margam Country Park - I think they do camping, but I'm not sure if that's just for events or at any time, but worth googling.

I think the Neath valley or the Gower peninsula are very beautiful paces to visit and stay. Enjoy your visit.

    Hi everyone,

Thanks for the tips i think we are going to look at Gower, looks a beautiful area and we've never been. I was also looking at the Greenways of Gower campsite?? Anyone had any experience here??

We usually stay at Trecco bay in Porthcawl when visiting our friends however as its school holidays the prices are absolutely crazy.

    Thanks again
    Adam

Clarach bay takes about a month to get to port talbot . Get real .. Thes Gower is Beautiful . A little further but we tayed in a site called Wood Office in Narbeth . Its a lovely clean site and very close to Oakwood and Tenby for other attractions
 hard as nails on the internet . wimp in the real world
  • It may be more west Wales but Dyffryn Seaside Estate is fantastic. The facilities are first class, the beach is amazing and the people are very friendly.
I don't like getting old, but its better than the alternative!

Really ? A little further west ? Wales isnt that small . Dyfffffryn is to port talbot as if we asked for places near Leeds we mentioned Birmingham . Put lots of fffffffffffs in Dyfffffryn because its always frezzzzzing especially on the nudist beach ( my excuse anyway)

  • I cannot believe no one has suggested fforest fields near builth wells. it is absolutely fantastic!! we live less than 10 miles from there but always pop over in the holidays for a few nights in the tent! Fantastic shower block, lovely walks, a swimming lake, away from the main road so is very tranquil, great cycle rides, theres a little stream running thru it and kids love paddling, a walk thru the wood to the local pub..............it's great!
they are on facebook and twitter
website here http://fforestfields.co.uk/ it's around £20 a night - well worth it. A bit further than you said but stunning

There are some UNBIASED reviews on the camping and caravanning website - it's not just club sites they list, good idea of what's available at each place too with regards to pubs/pools/units.

( p.s. Just in case I get queried on this - I don't think my post is suggesting any other websites for camping are biased - as with anything else online, don't assume just because people have written a review it will get posted with warts and all. )
