How do I fix my carpet?

Hi everyone.
I was wondering if anyone had any idea of how to fix my carpet. My cats have been a bit naughty and sharpened their claws in the carpet and now there are some pulls in the weave.
Does anyone have any idea how I can fix this?
Any suggestions will be gratefully received!

I have read that you can patch a carpet if you have carpet tape and a sharp knife.
You need to be able to stick the carpet tape under the hole though so would need to be able to lift it.
Then you cut a square from your carpet in an area that gets hidden eg. under a chest of drawers and another one the same size out of the damaged area , sticking the tape under each newly cut square and swap them over, sticking the patch to the carpet tape that was previously stuck under the damaged hole and vice versa.
If it is just pulls in the weave, but no hole, You could just trim the strands to match the rest.
The problem is, your cats are only going to do it again.
My inlaws had carpet tiles because they were so fed up with the damage their cats did to the carpets. They had a few extra squares and would just replace as necessary.0 -
I am not entirely sure what you mean by 'pulls in the weave'. you couldn't post a pic could you?0

My cat 'pulls at the carpet' I cannot stop it, except bought 3 cat scratching posts, and he loves these, and seems to leave the carpwet alone!Breast Cancer Now 100 miles October 2022 100/100miles

Put a doormat over the bit they like to pull at and get a scratching post and put it on top.. it won't fix the carpet but will save it from further damage..LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0
