My son is stopping at school to do his A Levels he is 16, i have contacted Child Benefit and Tax Credits to let them know but they both haven't responded yet after a month, my last tax credits statement only tells me payments up to 31/8/2013, so i am getting a bit worried, i know will have to phone them but havent got hours to spare waiting for them to answer today.

I was in this situation last year, my daughter was going to college in September and my tax credits letter only showed payments up to 31/08/12.
I was told by them that they can't process a change in advance of the event in case the situation changed.
They wrote to me again in early September and confirmed that I was still eligible for child tax credits as she was now in continuing further education. I think the first payment after that was a few days late but then it straightened itself out.
Child Benefit did much the same.0
