I've just been and tried the Giant Defy 4... not a bad bike, was a comfy ride, tho the gears and braking is going to get a little used to.
Also, a little more than I wanted to pay, especially since I don't qualify for the CycleScheme with being on long term sick (even tho once I'm back at work I'll be using it to cycle into work grrr)0 -
What do you experienced folk think of this? Buildwise

personally, I like cannondale bikes, but agree to try them out and agree to wait for new stock, then negotiate a deal on the older stock.
I bought a discontinued hybrid cannondale at £130 below list price with accessories added. The new year's model was just a different colour.0 -
Turns out after some sweet talking I can use CycleScheme, shame online retailers aren't included tho!0

It'll be fine. Shimano Sora is ok - not great, but better than some of their groupsets (by which I mean it'll weigh slightly more than the top end gear and won't be as responsive, but should be slightly longer-lasting and responsive than their lowest range). If you're asking the question then it'll be fine (genuinely sorry if that came across in a patronising manner - it didn't mean to!) The compact chainset is fairly standard now, and the range of gears will get you up pretty much everything - you might sacrifice some top-end speed, but for everyday use it won't matter too much.
The carbon fork will reduce front-end weight so it may feel like it has a 'fat !!!!' if you're carrying it anywhere or lifting it. Personally I'd change the bar tape and saddle to black - they'll both look horrible in 6 weeks' time with regular riding - but that's a personal aesthetic thing and there's nothing inherently wrong with liking what it's supplied with (even though you'd be wrong!)It's only numbers.0 -
2 of these. http://www.amazon.co.uk/AMMACO-XRS300-GENTS-SPORTS-14SPEED/dp/B00BCZ4FVM/ref=sr_1_2?s=sports&ie=UTF8&qid=1375944330&sr=1-2&keywords=ammaco+bikes ammaco XRS300 GENTS £229. Give one to me. I am desperate for a road bike, but wifey says (rightly) that we can't afford it.0

Hmmm, not so sure about that deal0

If you have a Decathlon near worth checking out their B'Twin bikes - in my opinion best deal for the spec you can get. I started off with a Triban 3 two years ago for £300 on Cyclescheme and have just upgraded to my next bike (which I love!), a Triban 7 (carbon forks and seat stays, Tiagra) for £600.0

OH just got this one from Halfords a couple weeks ago. But at the time it was only £250, not £350. Still - a very good price for a very good bike.Wealth is what you're left with when all your money runs out0

I've gone for the Moser. £488 and about £9 cashback.
After chatting to a guy in a bike shop today it seems like a no brainer. Plus it's currently about 400° on HDUK.
If I hate it then they've got a great returns policy0
