Whats the best homephone only deal these days with Inclusive Evening And Weekend Calls to 01/02/03/0845/0870 . ( But not Primus Thank You !!! )

Best i can find so far is PO Homephone Line Rental £12 a month (or £10 a month if you pay 12 months in advance) plus £1.25 a month for inclusive calls.

http://www.postoffice.co.uk/home-phone#overview

Also includes in £1.25 call bundle.

Weekend calls to UK mobiles
Weekend calls to landlines in 40 top international destinations

Still allows you currently to make calls via indirect access numbers eg 18185,and comes with no minimum term contract.

Can anybody beat that ?

Soon to be talktalk resellers with CS provided by Capita and their no price increases for 12 months promise expires on 1st October (so it could be a big 'un). I personally wouldn't advise anyone to rush in just yet. :D

(they are currently charging approx £6/mth more than talktalk for their unlimited BB so i wouldn't be expecting their new line rental charges to be as competitive as previously but time will tell).

Their price promise for existing customers runs until 1st October so there's no way they could have increased prices in September anyway. That notification had to be made due to them switching to Talk Talk as their provider. We'll see what happens after 1st October. (funnily enough Talk Talk themselves are increasing prices from 1/10/13). The telecoms market is getting like the gas and electric market - it's all about making sure your potential new supplier has already gone through their own particular increase so that a proper comparison can be made. A minefield in other words.

You could of course fix the line rental price at £120 line rental saver and just pay the 1.25 monthly call bundle if you were that worried.

    Plus £ 42 being offered by TCB . http://www.topcashback.co.uk/post-office-homephone/

I'm not at all worried because I don't use them or intend to. My original post in this thread was just to inform those who are thinking of switching to bear in mind their price freeze promise ends on 1st October so they are entirely free, if they wish, to put up their prices at any stage after that (the company they buy their telecoms off, for instance, is upping their line rental to £15.40/mth from that date and even at current prices PO HomePhone seem to adding £6/mth onto the cost of TalkTalk's unlimited BB package so who knows what will happen with the phone line?). And not everyone wants to, or indeed can afford to, pay £120 upfront (which also then negates the no min. term contract USP of the company's phone line offer). It was simply a bit of info that any prospective customer needs to bear in mind, as was your tip about topcashback's £42 offer. I suppose we will just have to see what happens.
