Is Juicing worth it?

I gave my juicer away as the metal mesh was an absolute nightmare to clean.0

Having helped my wife to do two juice fasts of around 1 month each, I have now had a bit of experience here and would agree that the machine is a pain to clean. (I tend to make a 5 pint batch which lasts around 2 days on a full fast) and only needs one clean down.
The juice my wife likes is called a "mean green" and includes apples, cucumber, celery, lemons, ginger, spinach and Kale.
Total cost for 5 pints is around £8 which is around £4 per day on her fast.
The point is that you stop eating other things and survive for a short period on just juice, and yes the point is to stop taking in the fiber.
It works for my wife and her weight loss so far is around 15 pounds on each of the fasts. Not bad for someone with limited mobility, and your not having to pay for things like weight watchers or other diet foods.
It's not for everyone and takes a lot of will power, and if anyone else wants to give away a juicer, I would not mind having a spare.

Just wanted to say a BIG thanks to everyone that replied, on the whole it does sound a bit of a faff although the juice fast idea does still interest me. Still undecided but leaning towards sticking with smoothies. Thanks again

Hi,
Just wondering if you know if there's any difference between the juices and smoothies? And also, how do the juices taste...can you taste the veg? Thanks
