Opinions on both please. What sort of ages would you say benefit more. Are they actually worth a visit. I know they are mostly free, but will they capture attention and roughly how long would the visits take?
I've got loads of other things to do, so if you could only visit one, which would it be and why. Been a very long time since I went to either.
Thanks in advance.

Science museum wins for me and I could easily spend the day there. But it depends what you like! Maybe check out their websites and see which interests you more?0

Kids would probably prefer the Science or Natural History Museums - lots of dinosaurs and buttons to press and interactive exhibits plus the medicine stuff in the Science Museum is well gruesome. The V and A is more for art and sculpture and stuff. But they're all on the same street so if you are bored of one, go next door. Definitely all worth a visit, IMO.0

The science museum is definitely good fun and not one to rush, we spent the afternoon there earlier in the year and it wasn't long enough! I didn't take my children this time but thought my 8 year old would have been fascinated but not sure my 6 year old would have been quite so amused!0

I loved the science museum as a child, perhaps check the websites to see if they have an particular displays/special events happening over the summer0

That's the thing see I've got to balance it between older kids and young ones too
One of my younger ones wants to go and see the Queen's "house" and Hamleys....so I have to do that, it's the sole reasons for going! But it won't fill a day.0 -
I visited both often as a child and loved both, if I had to pick one over the other I'd go with the Science Museum simply because it has many interesting and interactive things which as a child I found more exciting.I SUPPORT CAT RESCUE! Visit Cat Chat to support cat rescue too.

We went straight from the Science Museum in July to Hamleys, simple enough journey. I liked the Science Museum but sort of wished I'd gone to the Natural History instead. The frontier is never somewhere else. And no stockades can keep the midnight out.0

They are both definitely worth a visit. My boys who are 7 and 10 have been and loved them. The Science Museum has so much to see and do, lots of buttons to push, loads of interactive things, you could easily spend a whole day there and not get bored. The Natural History Museum has been a firm favourite of mine since I was a child. How could any little kid not love dinosaurs and learning about the natural world! The best day of your life is the one on which you decide your life is your own, no apologies or excuses. No one to lean on, rely on or blame. The gift is yours - it is an amazing journey - and you alone are responsible for the quality of it. This is the day your life really begins.0

We took my 2 & 5 year old to the Natural History Museum in April. They loved it. Especially going up the escalator through the globe. The live Dinosaur freaked them out but the bones did interest themWhat's yours is mine and what's mine is mine..0
