Have you been submitting regular monthly readings?0
-
They said when the plan was taken out that I only had to submit readings once a year0

The cost for the energy that you use is fixed but based on readings they feel you will be short to cover the cost of the whole year which is why the monthly payments have gone up.
Submitting a meter reading each month means they have a much better idea of your energy usage and can adjust your monthly payment accordingly.
It really is in everyones interest to submit a monthly reading regardless of what the t&c say.0 -
Hello
I am signed up 2 edf energy blue fixed price promise until 2015. I am in credit by £48 and now they want to put my monthly payments up by £20.
I thought a fixed price promise meant FIXED! Or am I missing something here???

I'm not sure this is serious?
It isn't an "all you can eat" product for a set amount each month.
It is a guaranteed fixed value for every unit of electricity or gas you consume.
It is the equivalent of you going to the petrol station and them agreeing that it will always be £1.35 a litre.0 -

If you look at my previous posts to this site, you should see that yesterdays contribution to this thread was with tongue very much in cheek.
I get fed up with people assuming fixed price tariffs mean they can use as much as they want, I guess I cracked yesterday :rotfl:0 -

You can actually provide them everyday if you like.
If it's been at least 28 days since your last bill, a submitted meter reading will generate a new one.
I'm concerned you imply no meter readings have ever been provided, and you are only in credit by £48
When did you join EDF and how much is your monthly DD before the intended rise?
I can't help feeling we've entered the realms of fantasy in this thread :cool:0 -
