Hi
Going to Puerto Pollensa in Majorca next Sunday with 2 teenage DDs.....anyone got any tips on places to visit? I can't drive so would be using public transport or bus trips.
Is the Hidropark waterpark worth a visit?....mixed reviews on Tripadvisor.
Also has anyone travelled with Jet 2 recently to Puerto Pollensa....just wondering how long the transfer was from Palma by shuttle bus.
Thanks for any tips,advice:)

The shuttle bus is usually just over an hour- have neen known to wait another hour at the airport for it to leave though.

The buses are pretty good in that area (we stay in Alcudia) and use them regularly. Not been to the Waterpark but we were in Mallorca last week and some family members wanted to go in but were put of by the 22 Euro entrance fee.
If money isn't a problem then I'd recommend a trip to see the Pirates Show in Magaluf.
The markets are worth a visit but try to be early as they get very packed and the heat can be stifling.0 -
Hydropark isn't bad, but its not out of this world - its not overly cheap.
Depends where you are in the port, also there are some good restaurants around, let me know what sort of budget/likes you have an I might be able to advise
The family's had a house in the old town for over 20 years.0 -
Take a look at bonygraph.com and puertopollensa.com the two local websites. Both have forums and all your questions are answered there on numerous occasions.0

Public transport we found excellent in Majorca.
Do the old wooden train from Palma to Soller/Port de Soller- it's fantastic. Caves of Drach good too but I would do that DIY rather than on an organised excursion.
Puerto Pollensa is a lovely resort- we went in 2011 & 12 and really enjoyed it0 -
Thanks everyone
Planning on going to Palma for the day.....is the cathedral worth visiting? Also would like to go to the market at Inca and probably the Hidropark for DDs. Would also like to go to the beach at Formentor......does anyone know if you can get a boat/ferry there and stay for a few hours before travelling back?
It's poured with rain all day here....can't wait till next week....we'll be there now!
Only thing I'm concerned about is the bus transfer with Jet 2 from the airport......some reviewers seem to have been sat at the airport for ages before starting journey.0 -
Yes boat to Formentor runs every hour or so other than over lunch time. Cafe there and shop. Formentor Hotel can be a bit expensive for drinks. Inca market gets busy and quite a few repetitive stalls. Cathedral worth visiting as is the hour trip around the harbour to look at the boats/ships.
As I say look at the local websites - you will find out far more information than you can discover on here or Tripadvisor.0 -
Thanks everyone

Pollenca, the old town has a really popular and nice market on a Sunday. Additionally there are the Calvario steps that you can go up in the town, 365 steps to the top, with views back down to the coast and of the monastery rock opposite.
Formentor is nice to go to, you can go by boat, or by slightly scary bus
The old town is a short bus or taxi ride away - well worth going to if the history of the place interests you.
Palma Cathedral is worth it if you can make it, spectacular, the marina is quite interesting too - although it is quite a large scale city...0
