Waited 15 months for appeal..

I was on IB and called in for assessment by atos and on 30/4/12 informed me i had 0 points so i appealed.
15 months later 22/7/13 i was awarded 21 points by a tribunal and put into work group, my question is am i entitled to any back payment at all?
I got my esa payment today and it's still the same as usual for £71?
Will they back date from the 30/4/12 or 22/7/13?
I am very confused by it all.

Yes you will get the back dated money from 30/4/12, but I am afraid the case load is so big at the DWP (sheer volumes of appeals and people to pay back) it could take as long as a few months to come through.
I would telephone them and check that the Tribunal service have notified them out the outcome, and see if you need to continue sending in fit notes or not.0 -
Thank you for reply.
I have tried to phone them but the 45 minutes i was waiting to get through and still without a reply has used all my phone credit for the next month:(0 -
Not that it is very helpful now lol, but it is usually better to phone as early as possible.
And yes, the difference between the assessment rate and the WRAG rate will be backdated, but may take a while.0 -
Thank you for reply.
Do you think they will start paying me the wrac rate before the back dated?
I'm finding it tougher and tougher to survive on assessment rate due to losing 25% housing benefit.0 -
Take a photocopy of the Tribunal award letter that overturned the appeal and send this into the DWP via the local Job centre plus - quoting your National insurance number along with a letter telling them that the tribunal service has done this and do they have the official copy yet? In theory they should have that and ask that they start to pay the WRAG rate straight away - for this year it is £100.15 and that you would be grateful if they could expedite the back dated payments due as soon as possible.0

Thank you for reply, will do that.0

It will take upto 2 weeks for them to recieve the Appeal notice....you can speed this up by asking for a jobcentre appointment to have your tribunal letter emailed to your BC.
Then it will take upto 6 weeks to calculate and issue the arrears.
You will still need to renew your sicknote whilst they are working on it.
You will not necessarily be backdated to 30/04/2012.
You will be backdated to the date your ESA started. Your arrears will be approx £28 per week going back to the start.
You can phone for free from a jobcentre or you can phone at 8am when it is quiet. Strange that it's always quiet at 8am - 8:50am!0
