Anyone Happy with their New Build?

I have just moved into a new build house and I have to say the finishing is not good.
My current nightmare is no instant and constant hot water from the communal boiler for the development. It's been almost a week since I raised it with HA who apparently logged them with the developer that built the property and they are suppose to contact us directly to arrange a date to look at the problems. But I have not had the call yet! I can not do the basic of showering when no constant hot water.
Is a 1 year defect period different to the 10 years NHBC guarantee?0 -
DD bought a new-build just under 2 years back and, as far as I know, she is pretty happy with it.
She had a few snagging issues early on, but those were dealt with quite promptly, and now, 2 years on, she has a long list of mainly minor issues that the builders will soon come to fix.
Having a 3 storey timber frame house, she has had some significant settlement, which is the only major issue she needs rectified.
26 years back, we had a new-build, most issues then were similarly minor, and one major issue was dealt with under the NHBRC warranty.
We are both in Scotland, it sounds like Scotland seems to fare better with new-builds. Could this be due to more stringent Building Regs in Scotland?0
