Hi all,
I am new to this and just have gone through the process of claiming PPI back from loans with the Halifax. I have just recieved a settlement offer letter, details of which are below:
1998 - £1500 - £318 settlement offer
2000 - £1300 - £230 settlement offer
2001 - £3300 - £814 settlement offer
I just wanted to try and gauge how this compares to other peoples offers, because to be completely honest I do not understand how this is calculated!
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated!
Many thanks for your help in advance.
Kind Regards
Dave

it's caluclated on how much you piad over what period and whether you received any rebates or made any claims.
If your complaints were upheld, you would get the amount of PPi you paid, plus any associated interest, such as if it were added to the loan at the start and interest charged on it, plus 8% simple interest.Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0 -
Thats great thanks,
So how does this compare to what other people have recieved?0 -
It doesn't compare.
Everyones complaint is different. There may be the odd person here who took eactly the same amounts as loans that you did and paid them back over the same period. Equally, there may not.
You are not being offered an amount, you are being given a predefined amount of redress defined by the FSA.Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0
