One very simple way (for us that aren't adept at house breaking) is to work out exactly where the cam "safety bit" is and drill down the side of the cylinder (after removing the handles of course) Only a very small part of the cam is holding it in place and the metal that is preventing removal is very thin - only takes a couple of seconds to drill through. Even if the hole is not big enough, giving the cylinder a good clout from the opposite side should force it out - worked for me anyway:j

Edit: Just remembered, I used a torch from the other side and could see which side the cam was.
Hint: the shape of the cylinder provides a natural guide for the drill, whichever side it's on.

If it was me I would remove the handle/backplate, put some mole grips or a large adjustable spanner on it and snap the lock. Its it not anti-snap it will break at the middle, which is perfect, if its anti snap the end will break off which at least reduces the drill length. The anti snap will be on the outside, so if you can get the inside handle off snap it that side.

The videos I've seen, the lock never breaks in the middle whether it's anti-snap or not.;)

  • Tryed drilling cam "safety bit" down the side of the cylinder. not much look... Had a look with a touch to see if l could see what side the cam was on and cannot see anything..
So is it possible to snap the cylinder in half using mole grips with these safety cams in the middle of the cylinder.. as this may have to be my next move...
  • yeah google lock snapping thats how people get into houses very quick and easy

As previously said, just break the cylinder with mole grips, or a hard strike down with a hammer will break it.
