    Hi

There is another choice and frankly the best choice when it comes to cylinders - Miele. John Lewis have one for £120. It will do everything that a Henry will but with more refinement and much quieter.

Henrys are fine but they are built for commercial use which makes them robust but a long way behind Miele in many areas that are more important in a domestic environment, like dust retention, noise levels and general versatility in the home.

Miele all the time. Cylinder is light and easily movable. Forget bagless. Its a real mess dealing with the dust/waste come empty time. THe miele bags will last ages in a flat. There is nothing more dust free and hygenic as a disposable bag. Just remove and throw away. Insert new bag and off you go.

Another vote to Miele, having used both Henry and Dyson.

  • Thanks, but I think I'm going for the Henry. A similar-priced Miele is slightly more powerful than the Henry, but the Henry's power cable is nearly twice as long, it has double the capacity, and the bags are nearly half the price. And I don't vacuum that often, so "industrial" vacuuming suits me.

Have to say that an upright Vax (Air range) is just as powerful as a Dyson vacuum cleaner, doesn't lose suction and is very lightweight.

If you don't want 'None of this changing twenty filters rubbish!' then you're always better off going for a bag vacuum.

As for 'industrial' vacuuming - what comes out the other end is just as important. Depending on the filtration, you can end up just removing dust from your carpet to place it everywhere else - shelves, electricals etc.
  • Well I've bought a Henry in the end anyway. I could have spent forever switching between different vacuums so needed to take the plunge.

Okay, make sure you buy quality bags for it, they will make all the difference in filtration.
  • Will do, thanks all
