Apologies if I'm posting this in the wrong section. I'm on my carp phone and it's a nightmare navigating.
My weeks been rubbish, what can go wrong is going wrong. Just got home today and all seemed fine. Then my fridge freezer started to get really loud and the outer wall on one side has gotten really really hot. I've just switched the bloody thing off. Any idea what could be wrong?
I'm moving in less than a month and was going to bin the ancient thing as my new place has a lovely new built in one. Can this one be salvaged to get me through the month or do I need to shell out for a cheap. Second hand fridge to tie me over and bin all my freezer food.
I must have V bad moneysaving karma
Any advice much appreciated.

Not surprised if it's puffing a bit in this heat. Ring your local independent white goods repair man. He might be able to help diagnose if nothing else. Sorry that's not much help really.
Alternatively you might have a search around (or even post on) THIS forum.
Cheers

The wall will be hot all the time. Fridges work on the process of heat exchange so the heat has to go somewhere. It's working harder at the moment because of the hot weather.Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.0

If possible move it away from the wall to allow better airflow. As above, it needs to work harder in the hot weather.0

This was really hotto touch and was making a racket. Neighbour had a look this morning and ice has built up at the back quite thickly even though I only defrosted a couple of weeks ago. Defrosted again and it seems to be working OK. Can't wait to dump the thing in a few weeks and have a nice sparkly new one!£10781.62 by 23/04/2014 :rudolf:
