Intermittent sewage smell

Hi all. I have been having intermittent sewage small for about 10 months now. It smells inside out kitchen and dining room(open plan) and outside down our drive and in back garden. I have had dyno rod out several times who have done 4 CCTVs, flushed the drains and general checks. To no avail. We have had a plumber inside to check traps and he replaced a few. Dyno rod did put some expanding tubes inside the pipes at the top of the drive (no where near the smell) when the 1st man came he said it looked like all the pipes had displaced but then they only fixed the end of the drive. We do not have a manhole according to dyno rod(it's not visible) as they have looked when doing the CCTV saying it runs straight to the mains. Severn Trent have check all the mains and these are ok... Please help as its driving me mad

    Neighbour's drains?
Did any building work or flooding take place 10 months ago?
    Forgotten but not gone.

Without wishing to appear rude I'm not sure how you expect a remote diagnosis on a forum when you seem to have had the world's entire supply of experts round to look at it already although I appreciate your frustration and commiserate with you.

    Cheers

  • I am just looking for advice to see if anyone has experience the same or similar issues? Am I not allowed to do that on here?
Tony6463, no building work etc and out drains run straight to mains but next doors have been checked
  • It probably comes from the Water Authority sewers , we get the same thing , an occasional stench which wraps around you like a blanket (no jokes please). I think there is a sewage pumping station locally on the system and when this discharges it pumps into the sewer system with force and foul air is discharged up out of the vents. It has had our neighbour contemplating all sorts of nitrogenous malfunctions with both her house and husband.

Yes of course you are allowed to do that but you have missed my point. You won't get a solution to your particular problem here seeing as 4 (??) people have already had hands on and failed. All we can do would be to suggest things they should have already done. You need to be able to touch and see the problem. Sorry if I was blunt then.

    Cheers

  • Not so much blunt as plain unnecessary.
