Renting references - Homelet - how long do they take?

Hey

I have applied to rent a small studio apartment through a local LA who use homelet for referencing.

I have renting through an agency when I was a student 4 years ago or so and for the last 9 months I have been renting in a shared house through a private landlord. For the time in between I was living back with my parents.

I did a credit report a few months ago and I am rated as excellent and I have no outstanding balances.

My LA have had my reference forms for over two and a half weeks now and I have not had my references confirmed. I have been chasing them quite a bit but they don't seem to be in any hurry. After chasing them they contacted my boss to confirm the information I had given and she replied within the hour with an excellent reference. However the request for information came from the LA not Homelet which I found strange.

As far as I am aware my current landlord hasn't been contacted yet, although he is aware he may be and said he is willing to give an excellent reference too.

I am just not sure what is taking so long! Does anybody have any experience with this?

I suspect the LA only submitted it to Homelet within the last few days as I recently got an email from Homelet trying to sell my insurance, but no tracking number or anything.

I am (hopefully) due to move in 3 weeks time and I am getting impatient as to why the checks are taking a while. Maybe this is the norm? Will the fact that I have only rented private for the last 9 month out of 3 years affect my suitability?

Any advice would be appreciated. I hope they get back to me soon - so eager to move! :)
