Advice - not paid as postage not combined as stated

Hello - I have bought off ebay for years. Always paid straight away and have hundreds of positive feedback all saying how quick I pay.

I bid on an item a couple of days ago and as the seller stated in their listing that they would combine posting if asked for multiple items I bought two strappy tops.

I asked straight away (within seconds) if they would post them together in one package.

I today sent a message pointing out that they said that they would combine postage and asking how much I needed to pay so that I could pay immediately

I have had no response, and the postage remains the same, I accept that both items sold cheaply but that doesn't mean that I am happy to pay £7.90 postage for 2 small strappy tops.

What would you do ? I feel like not paying but not sure of the ramifications of doing that.
Thanks

Panic over - I think. Have had a message saying that they will sort it out tomorrow.

Out of curiosity what would have happened to me if I hadn't paid

If you hadn't paid they could have opened an unpaid item case against you and you would get a non-payment strike.

Excuse me for asking, but I am not English and this is very confusing/annoying.....

'.... off ebay' do you really mean '....from ebay or........ via ebay?'.

'Off' means 'not on' in this instance.....so which is it?

    On, off or from/via?

All four. You can use any of the four words.

Off does mean not on, but you can buy items off a website.

I read it to mean that the OP bought them from ebay.

Must be the northerner in me !!

Yes I bought them 'off'...... not 'from' as Ebay don't sell things directly....maybe via or through.

You can buy items *from* a website, not *off* a website. The latter is colloquial usage, but not correct English.

From the eBay website or via ebay would both be correct, 'buying off eBay' isn't good English usage.

But you can use all four and it makes sense even if it's not correct English. The item is taken off the website when you buy it as that specific item is no longer available so it's not like it's completely wrong to say that.

I will also point out that I was really tired when typing that so correct English vs. what's often said didn't really cross my mind lol.
