Mouse in the toilet?!
Comments
-
I sympathise OP...I found a mouse in my toilet last week only it was alive! What was worse was that it was first thing in the morning, I was half asleep and assumed DH had failed to flush properly...so I flushed only to watch in horror as the 'poo' grew legs and a tail and was gasping for breath. Somehow it survived the flush and was obviously a strong swimmer!
In my case we know my cat brings mice in and we knew she'd brought this one in a few days earlier, we'd set traps but hadn't caught it. But the night the mouse made it to the loo the cat was shut out (to avoid more mouse presents being brought in). I have been told they can jump or climb pretty impressively.
Having said that based on what a work colleague told me and subsequent googling, it does seem that rodents can actually come in through the pipe system.
My husband is a civil engineer and has worked on drainage projects. Sometimes they have to put remote control cameras in to the sewers to view the state of the pipes - you wouldn't believe the amount of rodents that can be seen.
He has mentioned before that rodents can enter the house via the toilet.
There is also a story that a camera took a wrong turning and came out in someone's toilet!
I don't know how true that is, but I hope no one was sitting on the loo at the time! :eek:Early retired - 18th December 2014

Oh my god!!! Thankfully it wasn't a rat, it was a very small mouse, looked like a field mouse really. I think I got off lightly from frogs and Rats. We've been leaving the French windows open a lot with the weather so I wonder whether he came in that way. Good thing no one was visiting when I noticed him thanks to the squeal!0

I was going to say are you sure it wasnt a rat as they like to pop up in toilets!
But being money savers I am surprised you don't all have your lid shut as it is bad luck in feng shui to have your seat up, you are ''flushing your money down the loo''.1,2 & 5p: Christmas day food £9.31

We always have our toilet seats down, but only to stop the cat drinking out of them!0 -
Pity my imagination ran wild after reading this thread.
Was off the loo in a flash!0
