Default-unknown debt

Options
I had some debt problems back in 2003 and had a couple of defaults.
Eventually I paid them off.

I recently checked my credit file and found a new one for £11k and I have absolutely no idea where it has come from.
I asked Noodle to investigate but they said the company involved Arrow global have rejected their investigation and that the default stands.

How can a company simply issue a default for a debt I don't owe and get away with it.

Anyone know what I can do about it?

    They're a debt purchase company.

Fire a 'prove it' letter to them, along with a CCA, and that may back them into a corner.

Arrow global do this to a lot of people. Record false defaults.

They are a despicable, arrogant and obstructive company who always refuse to admit they are wrong.

Take it to the ICO and FOS if they refuse to remove it.

    Sorry, what's a CCA?
And, are there any letter templates about?

    Here.

Any default from 2003 should be gone, 4 years ago.

From post 2 on that thread
    IMPORTANT.

Also please note that if you are unsure that the debt being chasing is valid or yours, then use the letter above.

Please do not be tempted to send a request (CCA request) under s77-79 of the Consumer Credit Act 1974 requesting copies of the credit agreement.

If nothing else, sending a CCA may be taken by the DCA rightly or wrongly as an admission of the debt. Only do a CCA once they have proved the debt is yours.
You might as well ask the Wizard of Oz to give you a big number as pay a Credit Referencing Agency for a so-called 'credit-score'

Sorry, I realised what I'd done, but didn't correct post 2.

Ignore the CCA, and focus on the 'prove it' letter.
