How do I sell a domain name (.co.uk & .com)

I have a few domain names, which end with .co.uk or .com
I no longer need them and was thinking I could sell them, perhaps on ebay, as I already have a sellers account there.
Unfortunately, I don't really know the procedure, with regards to the sale.
Say, I had domainA.co.uk and it sells for £30
Does the buyer have to pay any extra money, to get the name transferred to him/her ... Do i have to pay any fees ?
Obviously if I know how it works, i can add a comment on the ebay items, stating that the buyer pays the fees.
thank you

You may want to try on the likes of Sedo first which is a specialist domain selling site.
You'd be best checking with your domain registrar but 123-reg dont charge to transfer and the change of owner with the registrar you can select who pays.
Obviously you need to make it very clear in your listing who picks up the fees0 -
very interesting question. i see my domain vendor selling urls quite often, perhaps try the obvious big players first0

.com domain transfers are normally free but there is a fee to change ownership of .co.uk domains.
£10 + VAT is charged and the transfer has to go through Nominet.

Just as a matter of interest, do you know why there is no fee, with a .com name.0 -

Its up to the company that runs the TLD/CLD whether to charge or not.
For whatever reason VeriSign doesn't (.com) and Nominet does (.uk)
Given that Nominet is a non-profit that only deals with .uk domain registry and they tend to like paperwork a lot more, I think they are really just covering costs.
VeriSign is for-profit and I guess covers the costs elsewhere...0 -

you have it wrong
you will be charged for transferring a .com domain ( normally the same as registration fee) that will add a further 12 months to the domains time.
a .co.uk domain is free to transfer, which you dont have to go through Nominet, as this can be done through any registrar.
The Nominat fee applies if you need to go to Nominet to have anything changed such as your registered details after you have registered the domain.0 -
Acorn Domains and Domain Lore are other places to buy and sell domain names etc.

First of all you have to figure out whether your domain has value/desirability, or if it simply something only a mother could love.
I used to be a regular in a domain site usually evaluating domains and the tonnes of crap that would get posted daily was beyond belief, unless you have a 1-2 (3 at the most) word or phrase domain you are going to be fighting an uphill battle; that is not to say they do not sell but convincing someone to buy is so much harder.
Right now there is a glut of domains for sale, why are yours different?
As for transfer fees and all the rest of it, it entirely depends on your registrar and the buyers..
.com is free to transfer generally unless you each have different registrars and .co.uk used to be a nightmare to transfer, and it is not much better now. It will generally not cost more than £10, just split the difference"Don't blink. Blink and you're dead. They are fast. Faster than you can believe. Don't turn your back. Don't look away. And don't blink. Good Luck" - The Doctor.0 -
