You need to get the trade involved ASAP, otherwise he can simply wash his hands of it as you didnt give him the opportunity to inspect the vehicle first.
You have rights - a right to a full refund actually as you've had the car such a short time - however physically getting the trader to accept that is another thing altogether.0 -

You've shot yourself in the foot taking it somewhere else - the trader has the right to repair the vehicle. He doesn't have to pay for the repairs by your garage as you haven't given him chance to do so.
