in Credit cards
hi, my mum has a credit card with a very hi APR and she is not in a postion to apply for a 0% credit card at the moment. I was thinking of getting a 0% credit card and then doing a balance transfer. My question is, is that possible? can I complete the balance transfer from her credit card to mine ??

most CC companies don't care about the names on the cards but you may wish to check their T&Cs
make sure they are not within the same banking group however as you usually can't BT from two cards within the same banking group
and of course once you BT to your card the debt is 100% yours0 -
I can confirm what Clapton said.
You can do it OH and I transfer between our cards all the time, but once the debt is on your card it will be your debt. And down to you to repay it should your mum decide not to pay it.0 -
I have to disagree im afraid, not all companies allow it. My mum had a CC and I took one out with M&S and they refused to balance transfer it because it wasnt in my name.DFW - Feb 2016 £19k

Santander specifically state that only the main cardholder's balances can be transferred. Others are much less fussy.
I'd also re-inforce the comment - once its transferred the debt is 100% yours and on your credit file.We need the earth for food, water, and shelter.
