Responsible lending gone out the window?

But still, great. It's all balance transfers, and it's every penny of credit card debt I have all in one place. Written to Amex, Creation, Asda, and Aqua asking them to close my accounts.

I've destroyed the Barclaycard, and will get it cleared within the interest free period as I'm auctioning off all my valuables as well of course contributing my surplus income each month.

And have a DD set up for the minimum, don't worry :D

But still. Almost gave me a coronary seeing that.

I'm not being nasty but why on earth have you run up close to £10k of debt only a few years after going bankrupt?

A litany of the most unreliable cars the second hand market had to offer.

Thankfully I also own valuables which I am auctioning off which, based on sold eBay prices, should clear near as dammit the whole thing.

To save cars causing such grotesque unexpected expenses in future my OH has enrolled in the Motability scheme and we are collecting the car next Thursday. Let them pick up the bill for all maintenance and repairs! :o

Why have you closed your Aqua card? I see in your signature that it is the reward card so you will loose out on up to £100 of free money by not putting your every day shopping on there...

I can see you have other reward cards but they don't match Aqua's 3% do they?

Congratulations with the barclaycard, I had exactly the same with them a few years ago, it was a huge relief to be able to transfer everything onto such a long 0% deal and made paying it off much quicker than it would have been on a normal APR.

You're absolutely right but as OllyM alluded to my spending has been somewhat wreckless as of late even if it is easily accountable to car trouble.

Until my current debt is clear I am operating strictly on a "Debit card wallet only" basis, rewards be damned. My current income doesn't allow for the scope some of my lines of credit provide.

At the end of the day People look at credit card debt differently because if anyone went out and purchased a 10k car with quite high interest they won't batter an eye lid on the debt but someone who's got 10k interest free debt on a credit card all of sudden looks bad.

I don't blame izools one bit what he's done.
