My Orange contract is due up (I'm a high tariff user)

Hi,

I have been a Orange contract holder for 9 years now and always paid my bills on time (DD) and always been a "high tariff user" . My last 12 bills have been £200+ (My bills have always been high). I currently get 700 cross network minutes and 500 texts for £35/pm+£4 for Orange care.

My usege is approx (hence the large bills):

1000 mins (cross network \ anytime)
600-700 texts

My contract is up on the 22nd of July so I enter the final month in a few weeks. So just asking any advice to anyone of what deals you have got any what I should be aiming at? I should hopefully have the "credentials" to get a good deal.

Any advice would be much appreciated! :)

have you looked into t - mobile flexed... im on £35 a month but you get £180 worth of credit to use and also at the moment FREE evening and weekend calls to landlines and ANY uk network. and they do have tarriffs upto about £75 a month with over well £200 credit. You get texts every week telling you how much credit you have left but the line rental is fixed so no over spend.

However if you need more credit you can top up like a pay as you go too :) Win Win situation i think.

    Hope this helps

I've been with t mobile for nearly 8 years and have just realised today how crap my deal was when i saw the flext 35 deal.I rang them and they agreed that the £25 a month for 500 mins off peak to landlines and 350 text messages was crap, but couldn't understand why i hadn't been told about the flext deal when i renewed my contract last year.I suppose i should have been more aware of the up to date deals but i wasn't.As a good will gesture they have knocked £2.50 my monthly bill.wowee;) ;)

na you can only top up on Ufix - it dont do flext on that priceplan..........

Orange has some great deals online have look and see what retentions can do I got Dolphin 35 with 550mins 500 texts and extending to 18 months retentions gave me the above with 2000 min bolt on and unlimited ( 3000 ) texts for 18 months last August, £5 more for 8mb broadband with unlimited 01/02 & orange calls ( including diverts ) via my LIVEBOX, £40pm well spent I say ;)

Orange really has become my bees knees ! Wish I had took a contract with them years ago - they say its got bad ( Broadband support is a lot to be desired but then its contracted out call centre staff but perseverence gets you there - email not call, you have records then ;) ) but Orange are a pleasure to deal with @ mobile compared to my 5 yrs of hell with Tmob 02 & 3
errors have occured and are quickly sorted...unlike the companies above ( 3 are alot better at billing issues now thab 3 yrs ago ! )

your a high spend so prepare to haggle even a discount on the current website plans if they cant offer bolt ons like i got - they will not want to lose you - get a Nokia 95 threw in for free - ace phone

you spend enough to get the £8 unlimited orange internet add on ( only avail to high spend customers ) if your interested

but yeah from website i'd go (demand!, nicely ) for a free N95 ( on your past spend in last 3-6 months & its already free for customers taking out the plan below, except nowt less than 0.00 upgrade fee for N95 on this plan )

    Panther £55 a month

    1300
    anytime
    minutes

    300
    texts

and get the unlimted text bundle for 3000 on top of your 300 and ask what else ( this is a free option for panther 55 )

apart from £8 data what else can they throw in to keep you ( insert £200 bills for last 12 months & 9 years loyalty reminder here ) ask......credit ? ( new 18 month plans get 100 credit at the mo, includes the above Panther 55 - can you get it ? " )

youwant what new customer will get on this plan and a few ( 1or2 )extras........:)

ps your so high spent that i'd ask now, they may say no or advise you'd get better after 22/6

I am a phones4u worker, i work across gap on oxford street.....Having read your first post i think you should go with Vodaphone....because of stop the clock...i am assuming your calls last a long time ...

If you make very long conversations, an there mainly on the weekend and evenings, stop the clock is brilliant, you pay for 3 minutes and then the rest of the hour is free...basically they take 3 minutes away and then the other 57 mins is free and you arent charged any minutes for that. Also u can close the call on the 59th minute and call again :D

Anytime Text 50 - 18 month, 800 minutes and 1000 txt's ...due to the stop the clock the minutes should be more than enought and the txts is above what you need as well and this at only £50 a month and you can get any phone you like for free, apart from the sirroco....

This way you wont go over your minutes and the bill will come at £50....would be saving you a possible 150 a month....

Do not worry about keeping your number as that is no problem as well....

Oooorrr...you can upgrade to the Panther £55 - 18 month

which gives you 1200 minutes and unlimited txt's

again meeting your needs and saving you quiet a bit...

If you go into any phones4u you will get a great service and they will offer you the tariff that suits you best...

Speak to retentions at orrange and see what they offer you. Im in a similar situation being a high user and long term having a mobile with orange since 1995 and the same number. I got a call this morning offering me double minutes double texts for £5 less per month and £100 cash back ohh and another free phone.

I turned them down as they want me to sign up for an 18 month contract. I was offered the SPV E650 phone and the guy openley admitted that there are no better phones that the one I have and advised me to take the phone and sell it on keeping my existing phone.

I actually rate orange for service they provide, I know others on various networks and they all moan about them. If you find a deal you like on another netork tell orange and in my experiance they match it.

o2 do 'talker' or 'texter' tariffs, for £50 you would get 1200 minutes and 1000 texts, with the choice of free calls or free texts every sat, sun and mon..

Little john i agree, orange upped me to 2000 extra mins & 3000 texts when in my 14 day period on link Samsung D520 with 10 months free on 12 months deal I said I was cancelling for o2 free long weekends, " 2000 extra anytime sir does that beat o2 ? and unlimited ( 3000 ) extra texts a month, 18 months like o2, free broadband too on all our 18 month plans ! hows that suit you sir ? "

that even beats my £20 off for life 3 deal from today

sadly I pay the Orange contract for me sis, mind you when shes about I grab her mobile for calls lol

obviously speaking bout yourself cos every staff member @ P4U i came across are pushy commission driven !!!!! - even when I walk in knowing what network tariff etc I want " no no no but hold on there, Orange are doing a deal more suitable to your needs "

I just reply " more suitable to your sales target & commission I think " - that shuts the stalkers up and they quickly disperse into the background ( where may I add a sales ADVISOR " should be ! ), aint been in to buy @ P4U for years ( just checking the competition for pricematch ) since my returned paid upgrade went awol and T-mobile got no return/upgrade cancel sheet, 6 months trying to sort it out and not even an apology due to dodgy theft practices ( the manager made away with my mobile - paper work was not even on site ) aswell I kept my reciept of refund as no paperwork existed, all i was told was refund slip was all proof i needed for T-mobile for future upgrade - !!!!!!!! !

you see them outside the branch door prostituting themselves on old retired people and kids these days - shameful really, Caudwell or not practices are the same, move on gsmmad you might be more respected/resourceful direct to a network, P4U LTD's staff loyalty is to the highest salesman not the quality of service - BALANCE !

    Hi peeps,

    I've recently upgraded onto a:
    12mth
    500 Xnet mins
    100 texts
    15 Pounds/month
    FREE N95

My previous bills average 60/month sometimes over 100. Be persistent and they will come up with the goods. V disappointed that they've now decided to charge for 07744/55 nos. Hope someone finds a way round it soon.
