iphone 5 vodafone unlock

I'm trying to buy an iphone on the gumtree. it is locked to Vodafone. anyone had experience to unlock from Vodafone. look like the phone is pay as you go. looking into Vodafone website it asks for the receipt to unlock.

please advice on this issue

    Hi drpbalaji1960,

    We'll only arrange for the phone to be unlocked if the request come from the customer we originally supplied it to.

    If the seller has had it for over 12 months we'll arrange for it to be unlocked free of charge.

    However, if they've unlocked any other phones with us within the last 12 months then we'll charge them £19.99 for each additional phone they want unlocking.
