Hi all,
Just been on the phone to the ford dealer about getting software updates for my car and he has told me that the powershift gearbox needs an oil and filter change every 37.5k or 3 years.
Im pretty sure mine wasnt done and Im loathe to spend the £280 the dealer quoted me.
Has anyone ever change the oil on one of these boxes? or is it really a dealer only job?

I had 2 S-Maxes with this, and due to the mileage/type of driving, it was done every 50k miles (every 6-9 months)
My car was always looked after by the main dealer, but I would assume an independent could do it, and in that case, it would be a DIY job.

Try one of the Ford forums, but yes they need fluid & filter every 3 years, and cost about £250.
The fluid is about £13-£20 a litre depends on where you get it, but I've no idea how much goes in.
I should imagine that you can do it yourself, try and get a download of the service manual, or pay for one of those eBay CDs to find out how to do it.I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....
(except air quality and Medical Science)
