offer from LLoyds TSB

I recieved a letter from lloyds a few weeks ago advising i may have been mis sold ppi with a form to fill in which i did and sent back.

they have sent me a letter back offering just under £1000. are they trying to palm me off with low offer or is this likely to be a reasonable offer, or should i reject it and persue a claim with the FOS?

Does the information on the redress payment look correct or do you have reason for thinking it is wrong?

Is it a goodwill offer? (the amount is in the range of a goodwill offer). If so, if you go the the FOS, they can withdraw the offer and if the FOS reject your complaint, you end up with nothing.

If it's a refund i.e. your complaint has been upheld, you'll get back exactly what you're entitled to.

Absolutely no reason for them to lie or fob you off, go spend it on a holiday and enjoy....

    Hi
Could i just ask how long you waited between returning the forms to them and them letting you know your claim had been successful?
Returned the forms 4 weeks ago and heard nothing as yet.
    Thanks

    Hi
Just got back in from shopping today and we've had a letter off lloyds tsb saying our claim is under investigation-if i'm reading it correctly sounds like we will know one way or the other in 8 weeks.
    Thanks

It's always eight weeks. If you are still unsure of the procedure and usual timescale for a PPI complaint, then familiarise yourself with them at this link:

Have you had no response at all, even an acknowledgement?

It's normal for Lloyds TSB to at least acknowledge within 5 working days. See the following link for their procedure: http://www.lloydstsb.com/payment-protection-insurance-complaints.asp

Did you send the forms by Recorded Delivery? If so check that it's been delivered. If it has, wait the 8 weeks. If not, get in touch with them solely to confirm receipt - they won't be in a postition to let you know the outcome yet.

EDIT - got distracted when replying, and you've subsequently received a response from them so ignore...
