According to Mrs o4u.
Glasgow, Edinburgh and Aberdeen, perhaps as early as this year.
Interesting move.

I think its more of a maybe going to than they actually are.
Here's an article from the herald Scotland about it:
http://www.heraldscotland.com/business/company-news/halifax-brand-may-return-to-scotland.18255281Time is a path from the past to the future and back again. The present is the crossroads of both. :cool:0 -
They're a year further down the track than that article.dr_adidas01 wrote: »I think its more of a maybe going to than they actually are.

Although I can't find anything elsewhere online!0 -
We got an update about this today as part of the results, if I remember correctly the Aberdeen one is a BoS branch conversion and the other two new premises.0

Perhaps it's me being cynical but having a few token branches in Scotland might give them the excuse to remove BOS branch access [ for Halifax customers] as it will have its own branch network in Scotland. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. Does this have anything to do with losing the TSB branches in the demerger?0

No it's because LBG have finally realised that Halifax as a bank and brand is still popular and liked north of the border.0 -
Partly, I'd guess.Thrugelmir wrote: »Does this have anything to do with losing the TSB branches in the demerger?
You've also got thousands of Halifax customers "marooned" north of the border after LBG killed off the brand there. This will have triggered thousands of complaints, especially in relation to certain accounts they can't service by phone or online.
There is demand there. Site the branches well and you can also attack competitors without cannibalising too any BoS customers.0 -
Halifax isn't a bank; it's a brand.
IMO Halifax isn't a massively popular brand north of the border.
If they had left BOS able to fully service (but not even open new) Halifax banking products then that would have been more logical.
BOS' saving range is already similar and BOS already sell Halifax branded mortgagesNo it's because LBG have finally realised that Halifax as a bank and brand is still popular and liked north of the border. This is a system account and does not represent a real person.
