Bank accounts for Masters students

I've had a few years' break from university, and am going back to do a part-time Masters in September. All the banks I've contacted have said that Masters students are not eligible for student accounts, and they haven't offered me anything. Can anyone help? I'm in Scotland, if that helps narrow down the possibilites, although I'm happy to do internet banking. Thanks.

Smile accept Masters/Phd students for their student account.
I've had a free overdraft for 5 years now.
Pretty good bank too.0 -

I'm not sure but if it is a part-time course does that mean you will be working as well. If so, perhaps the Bank does not recognise you as solely a student. I'm sure that some of the other posters can help.0

I'm going into my second year of my MA in Sept, I have a student account with RBS - I was with them anyway so I just changed my account online and had no problems doing so.0

Thanks for the responses.
I graduated in 2001, I will be working part-time and it is a post-graduate Masters.

Could you enlighten us as to what an undergraduate Masters might be?
All I can think is that they meant as in is it a masters which was signed up to as an undergrad (my brother went to uni at 18 and left at 22 with a masters) or is it a matter of having done a degree, then going back after leaving to do the masters. Ie. finish at 21, go back at 24 for masters. But then OP already said they've had a few years break. The term of undergrad masters is loosely used if its done as my brothers did, I find. And to be fair the normal degree they did wasn't a normal degree with a masters year attached, the third year was quite different because of the fourth...
My brothers both had all their student accounts continue as if a normal student on their masters. OP is evidently struggling having been told they cannot get a student account, so the bank(s) in question must at least view the two differently.0
