Hi. As im planning to start BSc studies on OU I have couple quick questions about Open University.
1. What level of language You reckon is necessary to write all assignments and stuff? My english is more or less on FCE level, much better in reading, and i suck in writing. I dont have any problems with writting Vision2Learn assignments right now, but OU is university with higher level.
2. Do I get ac.uk email address and other common students benefits with OU ?

Hi, imagine it depends on the course for your first question, I've had some courses which were essay based, some with little actual writing but more calculating. Your second question, you should be able to get an ac.uk email address and you should be able to get an NUS card. I graduated this year and was able to get both last year, so I expect it's still in force.

Hi,
Well done for taking the plunge with the OU :T
I've been doing it 14 months, done heaps of courses around work, kids and grandparents...Open Uni is so flexible, anyway...I found that starting from the level ones they gradually introduce writing skills that have really helped.
I was very worried that my essays were going to sound like a metal woman rambling but if you follow the advice (And believe me there is loads available if you want it from the open site) you'll be fine and probably amaze yourself at just how professional your write ups can become.
Best of luck.x0
