    Afternoon everyone

Redruby - keep an eye on your DH and make sure he gets support asap - it's not going to make it go away but he may need professional help, hugs to you all x

Feeling much calmer this afternoon - managed to speak to someone at the glass company this morning the windscreen is being replaced tomorrow and I searched through all my receips (always keep them for the big white goods etc) and I'd paid for extra warranty but couldn't remember if it had run out but it hasn't so engineer coming out on Wednesday to fix the DW.

Boys both on an xbox, mobile phones and tv ban until I decide otherwise! DS1 has been out and cut front and back grass, whilst DS2 hoovered through, they are just finishing lunch at the moment before I give them some more chores! Think this punishment will last until we go on our hols next week.

Household much quieter and calmer - bliss!

    Afternoon All

HH - Sorry to hear you are unwell, hope you feel better soon. You were missed on here!
RR - How awful for you all, big hugs to you all.

Well, that's that holiday over! DD and I had a fantastic time in the South of France. The weather was very hot (about 35 most days) and we have come back to a temperature of 17 and horrible rain! Need to get my case turned around for early Sunday morning for a trip to Krakow with some friends.

DD turned 21 whilst we were away, lots of people gave her Euros as a gift but I have changed them back for her today as she didn't see anything she liked over there.

Been shopping (the fridge was switched off) so that looks a bit more healthy today. Washing on the airers and house clean and tidy from before we went.

Hugs to those not feeling so good. Take care. XX

    Good afternoon,

I'm only just catching up as the internet went off again yesterday, but as you can see we're back on.

RRuby-so sorry to hear about the poor man and his family, well done to your OH for helping out though a great shock for him too.
We had to get someone up to check our sky box as we've not been able to get a lot of channels for a couple of weeks.Anyway it turns out its next doors conifers  so we moved the dish in the end as we know from experience he wouldnt do anything. He'd quite happily let us pay to get them chopped,or let DH and another neighbour on his boundary do it themselves but we decided it was easier all round to fork out £60 to move our dish, but its very annoying.

Went for a walk with DN and her little boy after the aerial man had gone. She's asked me to go out to lunch next week as she has got a taste cardthingy where you can get 2 for 1,so will meet her at the trafford centre,do some window shopping and then meet her for her lunch hour. It'll make a change.

I've got some beef in the slow cooker for tea,its gone warm again outside now, typical :D

Warm wishes to anyone in need xx

    Hello everybody,

Very windy here to-day and cold when you are in the wind.....we apparently have tornadoes promised for later in the week....don't think so...this is IRELAND !!!!!!!

    Hester...take good care of yourself.

Ruby...what an awful thing to happen, that poor family...would agree with everyone who has said that OH may need some help...there is so much suicide these days....we have had 4 youngsters commit suicide in past week and a father who ( allegedly) strangled his 2 young sons and then tried to kill himself...I shiver at the thought of why people see no other way out of their problems.

Some leftover chicken out of freezer for dinner, not sure what we will have yet, might do a stir fry with rice and veg. Might make a pudding with rhubarb but really neither of us should be eating pudding!

Getting a few tomatoes from the much neglected tomato plants and a few lettuce leaves. Apples look as if we will have a good crop this year, need to find something to do with them as very little room for anything in freezer, have nowhere to put another one...nor any money to buy one either, so will be bottling as much as possible to save what I can for the winter.

Hugs to all who are struggling with illness, money worries or any of the other carp life throws at us

Gordon Bennett its been a scorcher today I actually took the boys to the cinema because of the heat as its got air-con.When we came out my car tempreture read 34c and I'd parked it in the shade !!! I am definitely flagging today with the heat.Still I managed to get three washloads done for DD and dried, and persuded the boys to bring all their washing down to the kitchen for washing They live in a three storey town house and climbing up to their rooms is like climbing up a lighthouse :):):) my joints just don't work well enough especially in the warm weather. So I am trying to get as much done as possible as we are away on holiday at the end of next week so everything has to be nice and clean for packing. My consultant was very nice last night and I know I will get my op. before Christmas at least I need a HDU bed afterwards for a couple of days and they are in short supply so hence the wait but I don't mind plus I want to lose a few lbs beforehand as well.
Eldest DD is boiling in Zante where its been 40c this week and she said its really too hot for comfort. She is back home next Tuesday so it will be nice to see her.Its her 25th wedding anniversary this year (13th August) and the nearest day we can get the family all together is the last Saturday in September which seems a while away but it will soom come around.I'm not sure what to get her as she really doesn't 'do' silver at all I shall have to get my thinking cap on
Right I'm off to forage for some dinner from the freezer
    Have a good evening everyone

    Evening all,

Had a busy day so first chance to post.
RR my son saw someone pass in tragic circumstances earlier in the year. He still struggling with it, hope your dh is ok.

Went to the docs frost thing I've got to go for another blood test and an X-ray on my other knee tomorrow.
Have had a rare day with the car although its not easy for me to drive just now it was handy to get to all my appts today. I also had the dentis this afternoon. I've got an infection my jaw due to all the problems just lately :( I think I've got really run down with one thing and another so going to try and look after myself a bit better. As the doctor said if your not well you can't look after anyone else.

Anyway going to dig my crochet out and begin a blanket, it does relax me.
Just had a visit from mum and dad and we had fish and chips for tea. Not very OS but I really couldn't be bothered to cook tonight.
Had some quality time with my son this afternoon which has been good and reassuring.
I've got some parcels to pack up so better get on.

Have a good evening all x

Today at work wasn't quite as bad as I expected, although it was manic busy

It was so hot though, driving home, the car said it was 37 degrees !

I'm not sure if that was totally accurate, but it was bloomin' hot!

Hopefully tomorrow will quieten down a bit at work.

    See you tomorrow
