My skin became temperamental when I hit 40 so im still in search of HG's
However im loving:
make up remover : Garnier simply essentials 2 in 1 make up remover.
Cleanser: DHC cleansing oil & Elemis tri enzyme resurfacing wash
Exfoliating toner: Clarins brightening toner
Moisturiser: Elemis PCMC
Intensive hair consitioner: Macadamia hair masque
Mascara: Clinique Lash Power
The Elemis moisturiser again! :rotfl:Quite fancy trying this but how dark is it? (Bourjois Healthy Mix 51 / Make Up Forever HD 117 pale here)
Moromir they only do one shade it seems in this SPF 50 version... I'm surprised as the BB Creams they have in the Skincare section (with SPF varying from 15-25) have an option of Light or Medium shades (although I find the Medium oxidises and is too orange on me).
I have an olive complexion (Make Up Forever HD 155) and the SPF 50 one blends perfectly and adds alot of glow factor to my particular colouring.
I was reading a few reviews before purchasing it, and people seemed divided - some with much paler skin said it is fine if blended well, and others said it was a bit on the dark side. Maybe read a few of those & attempt testing it before purchasing? Nothing worse than buying something and finding it is too dark!
If you do buy it though - don't purchase it full price. I bought it for around £7.50 in Superdrug, and also again in Sainsburys on an 2 for £10 offer.

That's a bit mean! TBH I know a lot of people rave about Benefit, but I've never found any of their products are really worth the price tag, so I'll happily boycott them in solidarity
Have also finished a BS Seaweed face moisturiser - WBA as it's quite nice and light, and works well for my face, but I have a few face moisturisers to work through first.0 -
Evening!
First UU of this month....
Molton Brown Inspiring Wild-indigo Bath & Shower 300ml - If it were in the sale, I might buy this again but I didn't find it particularly remarkable.
GA - Putting these towards a charity stall I'm running, they're so greasy, they never ever sink in! Luckily I got them in last year's '6 for the price of 1' glitch, so only paid about £1 each!
Soltan Invisible Spray SPF 30 75ml x 2

Sorry, I've missed out my HG list haven't I?
Bath/Shower - I used to love Soap & Glory but I think I used them too much and grew sick of them, instead I love Philosophy combined Shampoo/Shower Gel/Bubble Baths, they're called such fun things and each one smells so amazing!
Body Moisturiser - Johnson's baby oil (lazy girl's best friend), Nivea Rich Nourishing lotion in the winter and Banana Boat Aloe Vera aftersun in the summer. I also love Elemis Skin Nourishing Milk Bath directly on your skin, sooooo nice!
Body Scrub - S&G Breakfast Scrub
Cleanser - No7 cleansing water, great for cleaning make-up brushes as well! Also Elemis Melting Gel Cleanser is brilliant.
Conditioner - Any Herbal Essences one seems to suit my hair, but I like the L'Oreal Everpure Mint ones as well.
Day cream - I always use a high SPF cream, Soltan Once SPF 30 in the summer and either TBS Vitamin C SPF 30 or Olay SPF30 day lotion in the winter.
Night cream - Three guesses? Yep! Elemis Pro-Collagen Marine Cream, expensive but OMG sooooo worth the money!
Eye cleanser - No7 Beautiful skin one, very well priced and gets all sorts of eye make-up off!
Eye cream - TBS Elderflower eye gel, I seem to get sore eyes with any creams and the gel is very cooling, which is the main reason I use an eye gel.
Hair Dye - L'Oreal Casting Creme Gloss Ebony Black, it's the only dye that gets me back to (very nearly) my natural colour, it looks natural unlike a lot of black dyes.
Hand lotion - Sanctuary Hand Cream, it's fantastic! I also love Nelson's Calendula cream but it's in one of those metal type tubes and they split in my handbag after a while.
Suncream - Piz Buin Active SPF30, the only one I found that smelt gorgeous and you didn't have to rub in. They've now discontinued it :mad::mad:
Talcum powder - I react to actual talc so I use one of two talc-free powders, Femfresh powder or Johnson's Extra Dry Baby Powder
Toothpaste/Mouthwash - Oral B Pro-Expert and Dentyl Active. I have very sensitive teeth and these are the only ones I can use without pain, and it doesn't even have to be the 'sensitive' versions! No Buying Unnecessary Toiletries 2023

Thanks Kadison! That's a great list - I'm going to have to check some of those things out...
Piz Buin is the best isn't it! I can't believe I used to look past it for years... I love their SPF 50 Spray for the body, always much better than the more expensive products out there...0 -
IN

I'm sort of in the same boat, their foundations and concealers are useless to me (oompla loompa face).
But I do really like "They're Real" mascara, thats very good and I'm quite enjoying the new 15hr Primer, I like it better than the Porefessional and That Gal for keeping my makeup on my face (although I suppose that was never the intention of the Porefessional one).
I don't mind their blushers but I think there are better in the same price bracket/cheaper.
Their skincare line is horrible, my mum's skin was stinging after she tried to use it!0 -
Oh and three cheeky in's;
Bumble & Bumble hair spray - free with Elle magazine
2 x Revlon Lash Potion Mascaras - saw some good reviews - its normally £9.99 but was on 2 for 10 in Superdrug?? Don't mind if I do!
I tried it tonight and I really really like it! Really long and fluttery lashes.
Struggling my way through a Laura Mercier mascara (brush is huge) and that new Chanel mascara (sample) which everyones raving about but I think its horrid, so wet and gloopy.0 -
I have the house to myself this evening so I had a bit of pamper time. I had a lovely bath, and a hair & face mask session.
UU:
Montagne Jeunesse Strawberry Souffle Mask. WNBA, I adore the S&G Scrub Your Nose In It and haven't found anything I like better. This was a moisturising one, which I don't really need but it was nice to indulge myself.
Andrew Barton SOS Help Me sachet. This smells amazing, like a creme caramel (the shea butter I guess) and my hair certainly feels happier. I left it on for about 5-10 mins for some intensive care, my hair doesn't know whether it's coming or going with this weather, sweaty roots and sun frazzled lengths. I do have a couple of other treatments in the stash, if none of them are better than this then I'd definitely Buy Again.0 -

I know what you mean - I really don't know who they base their colouring on! Mind you, I have this problem with quite a few make-up ranges.
I don't have much of a HG item list! Because I try to keep costs down, I'm not really brand loyal at all, but I do have some preferred products:
Dove soap - sulfate free, 59p a bar, and doesn't dry skin out, so I use it instead of shower gel most days
Shampoo - I have just discovered the L'Oreal Ever... Range, and if I remain sulfate free, I think this will be my HG shampoo. I tend to rotate shampoos though, as my hair gets used to it and goes greasy. This hasn't happened yet with L'Oreal.
BS Vitamin C Serum - I really like this product,it instantly makes my face look less oily-shiny, but at the same time adds a glow-shine
Fake Tan - I think St Moriz is amazing for a cheap product. No oompa loompa effect at all, and looks quite natural with my skin tone. £1.50 for a small bottle, and £3 for a big bottle
Hand Cream - Derma Hand Cream is very good - it costs 75p and works as well as products I've bought at 4x the price (a whole £3 :rotfl:) and it smells really nice0
