Is anyone able to tell me about a) shop and scan/cashback sites and b) what is happening with the ebay fees? is it going to make a huge difference?

I wrote a blog post about it a few weeks ago. Basically, copied from my blog:

"I am definitely going to rethink everything I list on eBay now. There are some great alternatives, and I certainly won’t be selling low value items. Currently, if I list something for 99p and charge £3 postage, this is how it breaks down:
Listing fee – FREE for 99p listing
    Final value fee – 9p
    Paypal fee – 34p
    Profit – 56p

After these changes (coming 4th September):
Listing fee – FREE for 99p listing
    Final value fee – 39p
    Paypal fee – 34p
    Profit – 26p"

I know that is only for low value items, but it really isn't going to be worth it for me unless items are at least £5+. Maybe even £10+

Have to say I am genuinely impressed tonight by swagbucks. Ordered a giftcard half an hour ago for M&S (I have always had amazon before) and just had an email saying it is available!

    Hi all
FANFARE! Think this is going to be the first time I have ever ever made my target on the £10 challenge. :j
    Today's update:
Coffee loyalty card redeemed - £1.65
And £76.77 interest as our HSBC regular saver matured. Was worth all the hassle of swapping money around every month.

Thanks Emmaglet! How on EARTH can ebay justify that??! Its bad enough with the paypal. Does it go up and up when you sell for £5,£10? How can I find out?

  • £7.48 from a sale on Ebay :)
  • Sorry been MIA last week or so, but good news to report;

£20 B&Q vouchers (spent on paint already)
£15 (£7.50 clubcard vouchers, worth x2 due to boost) - bought some fancy mugs to match the new dinner service
    A lovely £266 on-call money to add!
Oh and 5p roadkill in the pub on Tuesday.

So, target reached with very little input, hurrah. Love on-call come payday, not so much being woken up at 2am!

    Total this month: £388.90

    Good luck all
