Underfloor heating and parquet flooring

Hi

We are having underfloor heating put in our basement....probably wavin thermoboard...the type that has the water pipes sat in its own insulation and is laid directly on top of the concrete slab foundations of the house.

We would also like to have parquet flooring on top. The architect has suggested we lay 18mm ply on top of the ufh and then the parquet is glued down on top.

I just wondered if anybody had done something similar and if they were happy that the rooms were still warm enough. Also, any thoughts on reclaimed parquet flooring...

I apologise in advance for anything here that doesnt read correctly or make too much sense...I am a relative newbie to house refurbishment!

Many thanks

18mm plus parquet flooring. You will have to have the ufh at a high temperature for the heat to permeate through what is a natural insulation!
