all files in my documents deleted

The problem started when I saved some files from a disc into my documents. Problem is the files were saved, but everything else within my documents has now disappeared.
I used Recuva.com to try and recover these and whilst this was partially successful, the ones I need seem to be corrupted.
Any advice/ideas please?

recuva or recuva deep scan was probably your best bet
