North Cornwall holiday

I'm after recommendations for good places to eat around the Tintagel area. We will be staying there next week and don't mind travelling a little for somewhere nice, especially as it will be my husband's birthday whilst we are there.

Also, I have some ideas on where to go ( Eden project, Port Isaac, Trebarwith, Lanhydrock, St Michaels Mount ) but would appreciate visiting some hidden gems if anyone has any ideas.
Thanks in advance.

Interested in this thread as we're heading to Tintagel too for the BH week. We're probably going to visit similar places to you particularly Eden project & Port Isaac. Also been recommended the Camel trail (hire bikes apparently!).

We've been recommended to spend a day in Padstow though to avoid the Rick Stein places due to the tourists! My husband's boss regularly goes to Cornwall and has recommended several restaurants to us - Fifteen at Watergate Bay (about an hour's drive), Gidleigh Park (2 Michelin Star) and Trevose Golf course.

I live about 45 mins away from Tintagel. It's a lovely area, so i hope you get some lovely weather!

If you venture to Boscastle, it's really worth eating at The Cobweb Inn, here is a menu: http://www.cobwebinn.co.uk/menus.htm

The King Arthurs Arms is also nice http://www.kingarthursarms.co.uk/

It's well worth popping over to Bude (about a 30 min drive) when you are down, as there are loads of lovely places to eat (The Bencoolen pub do lovely meals) and of course, the excellent beaches!

    Enjoy your stay :)

Fowey is lovely, but about half an hour away, and can highly recommend eating at Sams, its yum, but may have to book especially for evenings.

    Hi Vic3
If you are going to Marazion to St Michaels Mount, Ben's Cornish Kitchen is a great place to eat. Also Perranuthnoe village, 5 minute drive from Marazion is a 'hidden gem' check out the village website www.perranuthnoe.com - lovely cafe - Peppercorn Kitchen and beautiful sandy beach!!

Don't miss out on the Lost Gardens of Heligan, we loved it so much there and preferred it to the Eden Project which was very commercialised and busy.. Heligan was beautiful http://heligan.com/
