Hi new member here !
Firstly, what a fantastic resource these forums are :T
Have been browsing for a while, and ready to jump in now.
Ok, my problem is that my wife and I had a joint internet saver account with Sainsburys bank back in 2007..
I happened to check my Experian file for first time in years recently and found that Sainsburys had incorrectly updated my "linked address details" when I moved to current address in July 2007.
One digit was different in postcode they used ( TQ1 rather than the correct TQ7 ) and using same house number it obviously uploaded incorrect address.
Wife set up Experian free trial and same problem for her....
I have a bit of a runaround with Sainsburys trying to get this sorted, have now got a helpful manager on the case, but latest update was that they are struggling to get Experian sorted as they no longer use them for credit ratings, but use Equifax & Callcredit instead.
I said I would see if I could do anything from my end, such as getting an Experian contact , who I could link up with Sainsburys manager, hence I,m on here pleading for the Experian rep to come charging to the rescue :j
** I get my Experian report via Santander packaged current account ***
The Sainsburys manager does not think the incorrect address will harm our credit ratings ????? and he said it will drop off in October anyway, but agreed that good to tidy things up as I am hoping to go for a mortgage soon.
Any help appreciated, Ta

Thanks Matttye
<< edit>> actually that link suggests to speak to the bank etc that put the details on credit report....
I have done that but trouble is that Sainsburys no longer use Experian, so it seems to be causing them a bit of grief to deal with Experian now ?
That's why I could do with an Experian contact to liase with the Sainsburys manager who is my contact point in dealing with this.0 -
It shouldn't make any difference to your creditworthiness whatsoever. It certainly isn't adverse or negative data. Not at all.Cashback Earned ¦ Nectar Points £68 ¦ Natoinwide Select £62 ¦ Aqua Reward £100 ¦ Amex Platinum £48

It says this at the end of the question re: linked addresses:
If Experian created the Linked Address that you are disputing, then contact us directly with details. Please quote your CreditExpert reference number in all correspondence.
Just click on 'contact us' and fill in the form. What will your verse be?

What this address link will do is cause any bank's credit checking system to look for accounts with your name and date of birth registered against them at that address.
As you don't have any accounts registered at the spurious address, the link has a null effect.
It won't cause anyone to see any data held in someone else's name or someone with a different DOB at said spurious address; hence the null effectCashback Earned ¦ Nectar Points £68 ¦ Natoinwide Select £62 ¦ Aqua Reward £100 ¦ Amex Platinum £48
