About 48 hrs ago I used Trivago to search for the best hotel deal for the hotel I wanted and this turned out to be with clever-hotels.com. I'd never heard of them or some of the other sites on Trivago but assumed Trivago wouldn't inc;ude anyone dodgy. However after going through the booking process and verifying my credit card card details their webpage froze and just said 'Processing....' but nothing happened.
I have received no immediate email confirmation but did not want to enter my credit card info again in case I got charged twice and I daren't book with anyone else in case I end up with 2 bookings I can't cancel. there's no phone no on the clever-hotels website but I emailed clever-hotels.com and Trivago and also sent messages through facebook but neither has got back to me. Nothing has yet appeared on my credit card a/c.
How long should i wait before I can assume the transaction was not completed and I can book with another firm? I've just had the idea of emailing the hotel to see if they have my reservation but besides that is there anything else I can do?

Yes others in the same boat but that doesn't help me. Hotel promptly replied they have not received a reservation yet but in theory they still could. I suppose my main point is how long to wait before I can safely book elsewhere with confidence I will not get charged by clever-hotels.com, surely there must be some rules about this sort of thing?0 -
You could try. http://www.clever-hotels.com/hotel/imprintNavelar GmbH

a tjp I got on here a few weeks back.
Try searching for your hotel on https://www.trivago.de (the German version)
Theres a few companies on there, ie Logi travel, who are often cheaper than uk companies0 -

already tried - no reply from them either (whoever they are)0 -
I can't offer additional advice but think you are right to be wary until you manage to contact them.
FWIW my single booking with Clever-Hotels worked out well. As mentioned above, I found them via trivago.de. They had the lowest rates for a particular hotel we knew in Sea Point (Cape Town) and I booked four of us in 2 rooms.
The booking went well, payment was taken and they sent me the hotel voucher. It was then that I noticed that I had booked for the wrong month. My mistake.
I was able to sort this out and got the date changed with no problem. Sorry, I can't remember whether I sorted this out by e-mail or phone.
I'd say call Navelar, the number in budgetflyer's post.0 -
have sent 3 emails to navelar and clever hotels and messaged the latter through facebook too - no reply to any so I have no confidence in them and won't waste money phoning as there are no single rooms left at the hotel now anyway. I've now booked elsewhere at £25 more with booking.com but at leastI have 100% confidence in them i'll stick to them and hotels.com in future0

I have used clever hotels once, without any problems.
I would be worried in your case though.
I see you have booked with someone else does these mean you may have 2 bookings for the same night0
