Advice: Tenerife 6-8 weeks Jan/Feb 2014?

Can anyone offer any advice or point me in the right direction please?
My parents who are in their early 70s and bowls mad, want to go away next January for 6 to 8 weeks to Tenerife. They are hoping to stay as close as possible to one of the bowls clubs so that they can avoid the british winter and their priorities would probably be relax, eat well, bowl regularly, sit and read, dip in the pool and generally potter about, maybe local markets etc. Occasional bus trip if something organised is on offer but can't see them bothering with a hire car. I am guessing it isn't really long enough to fall into the long-term let category and I am not sure where to start as regards looking for something suitable for them, so any advice would be appreciated.
I did look for the bowls clubs and the most obvious area seems to be Golf Del Sur for the Winter Gardens bowls complex. I would have thought a small self catering apartment would be best, preferably ground floor or easy access as mum has limited mobility, so doesn't need long walks, hills or lots of stairs. Are there any sites that will show rates if you are booking a block of weeks rather just the one week rates? Any recommendations for decent sites to try?
Any advice from others who have perhaps done this sort of longbreak in Tenerife would be great. Anyone bowled over there, is this a good area or are there better places I should look at? I'm happy to do a bit of the investigating for them and give them some options to look at but if there is anyone with some experience on here who could point me at some decent sites to start me off, that would be much appreciated.
Thanks Snapdragon

I've no idea where the bowls place is but I would have thought a private rental may suit best.
Maybe something like this?

The only thing with Golf del sur is that it is very close to the airport and can be noisy with the planes going over.
Your parents might enjoy Los Gigantes and there may be some bowling there. I know that there is a bowling green in The Oasis complex that you can book. This area has a lot of retired people as its not quite so busy as some of the other areas and there is a website you can have a a look at https://www.losgigantes.com and get/ask for information.0 -
I seem to have lost some info re accommodation. If you see something online you can contact the owner direct and they generally give you a better price for a let that's more than 1 to 2 weeks.0

Hi, we go to Tenerife regularly and use these people to book our apartments. As can be seen on the website, they have a lot to do with the bowling green at Winter Gardens, worth a try.
