It probably affects a minority of people on here but for those that were unaware, HMRC have recently announced tax relief on JRCPTB training fees and CCT fees.
I am not sure how far back you can claim but it will hopefully relate to fees of several thousand pounds.

Why???? There are lots of people on here giving friendly advice so why be so discouraging to one person because you think he/she makes loads of money.
My doctor partner, works long hours, every second weekend, and night shifts.
A doctor starts on £22,663 and a teacher £21,588 - not much of a difference.
I spoke to my teacher friend who pays out much less a year in fees than my partner who pays £1800 of his salary just to be a doctor. This doesn't include all the exams he has to pay for (often costing hundreds of pounds) or paying fees just to say he has completed his training.
Maybe you should stop believing everything you read in the papers and realise that everyone doesn't make what the Daily Mail says.0 -
Indeed, I didn’t feel I should dignify the aforementioned post with a reply. Doctors do eventually earn a decent wage, though for most, it is nowhere near the level the tabloids would lead us to believe.

(The starting wage is on the right hand side)
It isn’t easy to begin with, and by that I mean the first 5-10 years - long hours, frequent nights & weekends, a multitude of exams, moving house every 6 months, occasionally moving country and all the while, having to pay for these little pleasures.
(It does get easier though so hang in there!)
The tax exemption applies to junior doctors in training and considering the above, can only be seen as a welcome move.0 -

I never read the Daily Mail and during the course of my work I have seen the actual incomes of these Government employees. trust me there aren't
many poor doctors around but all the ones I do know personally would have everybody else believe they don't have two pennies to rub togather.
You are very touchy, I was actually commenting on the manipulation of the tax system by the government and would have made the same comment had it been dentists, lawyers accountants etc.The only thing that is constant is change.0
