I am in the process of looking to move out of my mortgaged property to rent privately with a view to sell my home and buy at a later date.
My question is will I have to pay 2 full amounts of council tax as my home will be empty until it is sold

Check with your local council...many of the concessions regarding reduced rates for council tax were removed in april 2013....although it does differ from council to councilfrugal October...£41.82 of £40 food shopping spend for the 2 of us!
