LV (Liverpool Victoria) contents insurance

Hi, I'm hoping someone can help!
I have contents insurance with LV (including personal possessions away from the home). I've recently lost my wedding ring around the home somewhere (took off for DIY) but I can't see if the insurance covers this or not ('lost' jewellery isn't mentioned in the exclusions or limitations). I fear the hoover has it by now - despite hunting through the dirty bag! Has anyone had any experience with LV in this area?
Thanks for any help!

Most insurance companies will need you to be certain the item is now lost away from the home. If you tell them that you think the item is still lost in the house somewhere then they will say that it is just 'misplaced' and can be found at some point so will decline the claim. If you think you may have thrown it away in the rubbish or when emptying the hoover then they will likely look to cover it.
Remember, that they will ask you for proof of ownership. The best proof of ownership to provide is official documentation - either the original receipt or a recent valuation certificate. Failing that, they will likely accept photos and if you have nothing they may ask their suppliers to give it a general valuation based on your description (expect not to receive full value if you don't have any proof of ownership).0 -
Thanks Bart! I've a valuation from the jeweller and areceipt so I should be ok. It’s definitely not misplaced as I know exactlywhere I left it and my engagement ring was still there - so can only be in therubbish by now.

Check your insurance excess before making a claim or even before ringing them. Ringing them will generate a marker even if you don't claim and your premium could go up because you are now more of a risk.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0
