    Most guidance states you both seek work, that's why if I were you I'd get a definite response as if this is so, you'd be better off staying on ESA whilst you seek work.

    Personally I'd say don't stop the ESA claim until this is clarified. Many on here are knowledgeable and should be able to help, I just didn't want you skipping off to stop a claim for ESA without clarification on this.

    yes joint claim rules dont apply if you have dependant children
