Dead PC

My mate has just phoned me saying his PC is lifeless. He shut down as normal last night without any problems, has gone to turn it back on tonight & nothing. Will not even switch on.

He has checked fuses, plugs, surge protector etc. Anyone had similar happen to them before?

The only thing I can think of is the power unit inside the tower which the power lead plugs into is knackered.

There is lifeless and LIFELESS have you asked him if there are any lights , fans whirring or beeps from the mobo.
If there are none of these it is probably a good thing as the comp is more than likely ok other than needing juice .
There is also a Fuse in the computer for the psu so maybe that has blown or if your mate is really lucky someone has turned the switch of on the back of the case while he was out.

Totally agree with the above. PSU's arent expensive and are relatively easy to fit.

Also, if its not that, check the little microswitch in the on / off button - that has happened wth a couple we've seen
