Hi folks,
Just got Talktalk fibre medium installed today and so far happy with the speed, 36mbps down and almost 2 up.
1 The engineer mentioned that its best to leave router and modem on all the time as to get any updates on software, so is this correct the modem or router will be updated automatically?
2 Sometimes when I switch my desktop on windows 7 is a bit slow in getting ip and getting ready to browse (connected by Ethernet).
There is a wireless card in pc as well so was wondering should I let it connect as well (put in wireless password) so if Ethernet is slow, I was thinking it might connect quicker wirelessly for those times that Ethernet is slow.
Or would the above only cause some sort of conflict?
Thanks for any help.
Joe

Don't connect by wired and wireless at the same time. If it can take a little longer to connect by ethernet connecting by wireless is unlikely to be quicker.0
