Delay in signing missives

Our purchasers were due to sign missives a week past Friday however had a few queries which were answered last week. Our solicitor then asked for missives signed by Friday however the purchasers solicitor contacted to advise her client is out of the country until 5th August. As the agreed date had always been 6th Aug she asked for it to be moved to 9th Aug, which we agreed. Our solicitor then again asked for completion of missives by today at close f business and she emailed me to say she had left 2messages for purchasers solicitor to call her but no reply.
Don't really know where we stand, Is this normal?

It's holiday season and if your purchasers are also out of the country until August then it's quite possible that their solicitors cannot get the answers they need.

Sadly, quite possibly the biggest single financial commitment someone can make doesn't seem to register when it comes to having that well-earned but stupidly-timed summer break... :)
